Activities by Ohno Laboratory (WIDE Project) for Internet FAX

Ohno laboratory is taking up Internet fax as one of studies and
doing research on it. The laboratory has a close relation with
Internet FAX Study Association.

Internet FAX Study Association was founded in June 1997, whose chair
person is Dr. Hiroyuki Ohno in Ohno laboratory. It researces Internet
fax and related technologies to integrate and merge Internet fax, which
is one of existing media, with the Internet. Most students of Ohno
laboratory belong to Internet FAX Study Association. They take part in
its seminar for discussion, research and development of related
technologies.

Ohno laboratory acts mainly in "wt-wg" which is one of working groups
of WIDE Project. Its recent outcomes include RFC 2305. In December 1998,
Ohno laboratory tests interconnection between Internet faxes at
FaxConnect 1 held in San Jose.
