Design of WIDE Internet FAX

Design of Internet FAX
WIDE/IFAX (WIDE Internet FAX) consists of three parts:

Message Receiver

The Message Receiver consists of some submodules that receives messages via FAX, e-mail, scanner and so on. These submodules post the received messages into message spool.

Message Spooler/Dispatcher

The Message Spooler pick a message up sequentially, and pass it to Message Dispatcher. Message Dispatcher analyzes rule data base and pass the message to corresponding submodules of Message Transmitter.

Message Transmitter

Message Transmitter consists of some submodules that transmit the message to FAX, e-mail, printer and so on.

Extensible Port

The WIDE Internet FAX has its own communication function with external modules in order to easily include new functions. It is possible to attach many interfaces for input/output, for instance, a client using Java or CGI-bin, a client which forwards input from a PDA, etc. It is possible to make the WIDE Internet FAXes directly communicate with each other through these ports.
