Overview of stetho

stetho --- network stethoscope

Observating network traffic is important job of administrators. This job is usually difficult. Because, network traffics are changing continiously, and the amount is too much. Watching the graphical or lexical representation is hard to do.

We have introduced the system which present network traffics as sounds. We call this system as "Network stethoscope system". Observation of traffics is similar to doctor's medical examination, isn't it.

We are developing a network stethoscope system, "stetho". Stetho receives tcpdump messages, analys them, and produce corresponding MIDI messages.

stethocast

Stethocast is a system which provides uni/broadcasting service of sound of stetho on networks. It includes stetho and other softwares such as MIDI sound modules, encoder, broadcasting server, etc. Currently, there are two type of the system, stethocast/Real which uses RealSystem and stethocast/MP3 which provides MP3 streams
